Prayer
Requests
Here are the
prayer requests as of May 9, 2008:
1. Thank the
Lord for the safe return of Esther Lou, Leo and Phoebe Hung from
their mission trip to LA, Peru, Argentina, Brooklyn New York, and
Philadelphia. Thanksgiving to the support from all of the local
churches.
Esther reported
that in Peru, 40 people joined in the local evangelical events.
They now have 2 full-time pastoral RM staff, and also planted 2
churches. There are over 10 local Christians in Chile hoping to
start up RM, they do not have any pastors nurturing them at the
moment. They ask for our help and prayers.
In Philadelphia,
there are a number of Fu Zhou 福州 new immigrants and the local churches
are struggling to provide for their spiritual needs. Many have the
burden of immigration debt. Please pray for them.
A more detailed
written report will be forwarded to this network soon.
2. Please continue
to pray for Esther's onward journeys to China (Beijing & Xian)
and Hong Kong in May. She will be attending the CCHC annual directors
meeting in Hong Kong. Please pray that she may have sufficient rest
and grace to complete her mission and sharing this time.
3. Continue
to pray for our upcoming RM Training 2008 基層福音證書系列培訓between May
19-22. We now have 30 applicants attending the entire course. Our
staff are busy with the preparation, and liaising with Dr. Agnes
Liu in HK. Please pray for our instructors Dr. Liu and Grace Lee
that they may have the wisdom and message from God. May the Lord
prepare the students' hearts, and get them ready for serving the
needy community.
Also invited
Rev. David Cheung 張子江牧師 to open the training event on Monday May
19, together with Mr. Lam Sau Wing 林修榮先生 giving a seminar on "How
to help new immigrants manage their finance 如何輔導基層人士理財". Please
pray for our students', guests' and instructors' safe arrival and
joyful trip. Amen.
4. Praise the
Lord for continuous addition of newcomers at our Milpitas RM Fellowship
- some are from Fremont area, and they all willingly accepted Christ
with continuous attendances. We earnestly plead to the Lord for
His leading in their lives, their repentance, and journey to baptism.
Amen.
5. Praying for
an upcoming meeting of Esther Lou and Rev. Pak Cheung Lo 勞伯祥牧師 (CCHC
Founder & Executive Director 角聲創辦人及總幹事) with Chinese Independent
Baptist Church of Oakland 屋崙華人自理浸信會, discussing the possibilities
of starting a brand new Oakland RM Fellowship. We faithfully lean
on the Lord for making this happen as many restaurant brothers and
sisters are waiting for a regular meeting to worship Him. Some are
ready for baptism. Hoping to see a complete turnaround in this local
area for RM. Amen.
6. Thank the
Lord for a very rewarding month of our newspaper Delicacy of Life
美味人生, the Mother's Day article "我是最富有的媽媽" was well received
amongst the communities. May the Lord continue to move the hearts
of the restaurant people so that they may willingly come to Him.
Also praying that the upcoming May issue Father's Day article, may
the Lord continue to use our newspaper to reach to many needy people.
7. Thank the
Lord for bringing Ann Zhou 周紅 (Director of Northern California Dorcas
Family Ministry 北美多加協會會長) to our prayer meeting last Friday. We
thank Him for watching over our sister in ministry, and her sharing
of the news of becoming locally independent from Dorcas. We continue
to pray for the Lord's will on their ministry, and also for joint
strategies with other ministries in the area.
We are also
specifically praying for their upcoming May 17 meeting 多加溫馨關懷聚會
